Monday, August 8th

Today two new students joined our class and we welcomed them during morning meeting.  During Reading Ms. Karably lead a special inquiry-based lesson.  In Science we started our genetics unit and students completed an activity where they selected genes that determined the traits of their dog.  Tomorrow we will continue with genetics by learning about the structure of DNA.


During Math we discussed the components of bar graphs and students completed some problems in class.  We concluded the day in Writing where we discussed our classroom agreements (listed below) and had our weekly library visit.




Announcements
Music -- students need to bring in their recorders OR $5 to buy a new recorder by Friday, August 12th
