During morning meeting we did a "name" icebreaker. I was delighted to see that we all know each other's names. Following morning meeting we had our first school-wide assembly and it was a loud, spirit-filled event.
During Math we completed a graph warm-up in our notebooks and during Writing students took a diagnostic spelling test. After lunch students wrote, illustrated, and discussed what it means to be ready, responsible, and respectful in the classroom. Next week we will compile and condense our thoughts into our classroom agreements.
We continued our day by writing about our hopes and dreams for this year, playing "River & Bank" (a team-building game), and going to our first library visit.
