Today we corrected our daily grammar and discussed the homework. Then we read two documents that provided details about land and sea Civil War battles. Students took notes on Union and Confederate goals and strategies. We also addressed the economic aspect of the Civil War. At the end of the lesson, students used their notes to answer the following question: Why did the North win the Civil War?
We concluded our day with reading a few pages in Gathering Blue. Tomorrow I'll be sending home some class work with students. I do not need these papers returned.
