We started our day with reading Gathering Blue and adding to our "Dystopian Setting" notes.
After reading, students had an assessment. While they completed their "Civil War at Sea" maps, I circulated the room and graded their "Why did the Union Win the Civil War" paragraphs. Some students choose the level 4 option and added the battles we learned about yesterday and made short lists about the advantages of each side.
Just so parents know, I try to assess students in a variety of ways. Students who didn't have the correct information in their paragraphs were given feedback and the opportunity to change their answers.
