We set up our ELA and Social Studies notebook and we began our first lesson on identifying main idea and summarizing text with the book John Brown: His Fight for Freedom. I choose this text because John Brown is an American who 5th graders learn about during their study of the Civil War.
A note about blog updates
I typically update the blog by 6pm on weeknights. However, on some occasions I may update it later or combine a few days in one blog entry. This typically happens during the first and last week of the term and on Fridays.
