Monday, February 8th

Today students began working on their summative narratives.  They are to work on their stories at school and they will have ample time to complete their stories.  We also started reading Messenger and we discussed the changes we saw in the main character.

During social studies we continued learning about the Great Depression.  We listened to one of FDR's Fireside Chats about the Dust Bowl and we began reading about his presidency.  The assessment will be on Thursday and students received their study guides today (the study guide is also due on Thursday).  Students should use their class notes, worksheets, and the quizlet to complete the guide.  We are going to cover the New Deal tomorrow, so students should bring their study guides to class on Tuesday.

Ms. McFaddin and I are giving our end-of-term assessments this week, so please let us know if your child will be missing any days.
