Tuesday, January 6th

We had a productive day today.  Students completed the daily grammar and did a RL4 snapshot.  I'll use the results to make my workgroups for tomorrow's figurative language lesson.  We read Messenger and students worked on their fluency while we discussed various literary elements and text connections.

Then we did our UOI kickoff.  Students analyzed historical photographs and paintings and worked with their table groups to determine if the pictures informed, influenced, or did both.  Then I read a passage about President Wilson while students identified how he moved through the action cycle during his life.  We will finish our notes and reading about Wilson tomorrow.
