During ELA this week we will be focusing on reviewing literary standards and parts of speech.  Today we continued reading The Giver and compared and contrasted the text setting to our real life setting.  On Tuesday students will begin the writing process for their memoirs.  

During social studies students worked in groups to analyze one of the proposed, but not ratified amendments.  Students looked at two documents about the history of the Equal Rights Amendment and answered some questions.  Tomorrow we will discuss how citizens use their first amendment rights to influence potential amendments and laws.
